Well I'm trying to make yet another attempt to tune this car. I checked the trailer tires tonite and this is no joke, one of the valve stems blew apart and hit me in the chest at 4:45, tire shop closes at 5, I tore it off the trailer and they had the tire done by 5:01. Weather looked good for tomorrow at my favorite track, Thompson Raceway Park. Now they say a big storm is pushing through so I'll have to go to Dragway42 Sunday. I don't want to go to an 1/8 mile track, 42 is 1/4 mile. I know 572Charger laid down a nice 9.69 I believe a couple weeks ago there but they were spraying the track for a rental. Is 42 still a bumpy tractionless mess like the last time I was there 2 years ago? Quaker's having a Halloween weekend, too busy to make a bunch of test runs.

I dont think 42 will ever change, it will always be a junk track. I dont think its as bumpy as it used to be though. It will probally be packed, and i doubt you will get many hits. If you go, i hope you have fun, and get it dialed in.

The first thing Taylor said after she went there was "man that's bumpy"
Now mind you, her car has no suspension but you can see each bump in the track as a spike in the Jackshaft (Blue) and RPM (red) lines. Basically, her rear tires were momentarily coming of the track at each of those spikes.

i agree thompson is my track too, but i like 42. yea a little bumpy. they still seem to get some fast super pro cars and a ton of pro cars. i have always had good luck with the traction there. i was there for there halloween thing and when as it got colder the starting line went away but they realized that and shut things down for the night. i like 42 because they go through the cars quick. also Toby earned my respect this past july 4th. i got a leak in my left rear slick and toby personally was there to tear the tire down and patch the tube so i wouldn't have any problems loading the car. i was worried about driving into the trailer and ruining the wheel.... honestly what other track would do that.. to have the owner of the track help work on my car.

Milan would be nice but a little too far for me. Wild Bill it's amazing what you guys do with those juniors, post a graph of a smooth track for us. Mike I received the bleeds thanks to Jesse at BIGS and will tune this weekend. Modified1090, there's several little things that I like about that track it's just that I've had quite a few wasted days there due to poor traction over the years so I quit going there 2 years ago, it sounds like maybe it's a little better now. I'm gonna try to hook a true 10.5" tire into the 9.90's there Sunday. One of my neighbors runs a low 8 second Camaro there every week but it's a big tire tube chassis car.

This is one of her passes at Norwalk. I'm sure you know how smooth that track is. I could even lay one graph on the other to compare the two. I wish I could afford something like this for my car. I can't imagine trying to tune her car with out it now. I can look at the graph and tell you if the tires spun, belt slipped, she stabbed the brake (and how many times) lifetd off the gas, and where on the track down to the .1 of a foot it all happened at and much more. Notice the black verticel lines, the first #'s are the time druing the run and the secondx set is feet down track.

Bill, that is positivly one of the coolest programs I have seen. What did that cost for her JR? Love to see that on your Blue Beast. How pricey are they for full size cars ? Good luck Bob !! Go run some numbers!

This one was $560.
IIRC data loggers for a big car are atleast double that.

Cool Tony I'll see ya there! I'm gonna try my best to avoid the rocks and dust though. Do you still pit in your old spot? It was nice there but too much rocks/dust. Eric, Thompson has an all around great atmosphere, and usually has alot of Mopars. Ron, believe me, I would have taken yesterday off work and went to 42 if I'd known the weather was gonna change, that would have been great cuz I could have vegitated on Sunday instead of busting my butt at a track.

Thanks I put the number in my cell phone. Here's the update on their homepage. One of my friends is going with his friend and they're taking a 7 second turbo stang and a mid 8 second nitrous S-10. Should be a good time!
