I have BM 8 bolt plate dated Sept 06. How long is the SFI cert good for and if I need to, where do I send it?
Thanks in advance.

Tony

Flex plate certs are good for 3 years and it needs to go back to the original mfg. Some don't do recertification so you need to call B&M to make sure.

B-M wont recert them. I must buy a new one. Just a heads up for anyone else, who like myself, did not know. Does anyone know of a manufacturer who does or is it any industry wide deal not to recert them?
PS does anyone need one with 4 1/4 mile passes on it?

That works for me. They never ever checked the one I have, or the 6 bolt plate I had before that. With my luck,, they will crack down on these next year and impose a fine. Back in it goes.

A couple years back at Infinion Raceway I was in the right lane and Mustang in the left during burnouts the Mustangs SFI flywheel blew apart and hit the lane guy behind my car.
Shattered his ankle and he was off work for a while.

I did get the win

Sorry I wasn't clear, out here where we race on PAVEMENT NHRA confiscated the broken flywheel and the pieces and determined the flywheel was still within it's cert, and yes they do check our flywheels .

I think it was the comparison between a FLEXPLATE, which is stamped steel and never explodes, and a FLYWHEEL, which is a 30 hunk of iron that explodes ugly that drew the remarks. Kinda like an apples to mangoes comparison.
