I'm planning on putting Mini tubs and Ladder bars on my 67 Coronet. Has anyone done this? What size tire and wheel can I put on it? I have a Dana and Hoosier 9X30 Slicks under it now with CALTRACs 60's 1.50. How much will the ladder bars help the 60? Thanks

if you have caltracs why do you want to put ladder bars, plus thats the reason for the snubber you dont need chevy gadgets on a mopar.

a good set of springs with cal-trac's should be perfect for a bracket car. I wouldn't think you'd gain much by going to ladder bars.

CALTRAC's with Mono spring works ok but my 60 foot is not consistant. I see guys running quicker 60 ft and more consistant with ladder bars.
I'm putting mini tubs on so I can run a bigger tire. The question was for information on how big a tire and the back space on the wheel for someone that has a 67 Coronet and is running ladder bars. Thanks.

I went through the same thing, with a '66 Satellite. I minitubbed it, to the frame rails, and was able to get a 15X10 wheel with 7 1/2 backspace and a 29.5X11.5X15 M/T ET Drag to fit, with an inch of clearance on bothe sides of the rim with a stock width (59 1/2" 8 3/4) This was with SuperStock springs moved into the frame rails. I went to the Caltrac setup, but found it inconsistent in the 60's, I was never able to tune the launch properly. It would sometimes leave perfectly, then the next run it would bounch the back end. 60 foots were in the 1.50 or worse range. Looking back, it was probably the Rancho shocks. Out of frustration, I converted to ladder bars, and what a difference! It now will hook, lift the front wheels, and 60 foot the same run after run. My 60's are usually 1.40-1.42. This year, I moved up to a narrowed Dana (51 1/2") and used 15X10 wheels with 3 1/2 back spacing. PM me if you want more information, hope this helps, Bob

Thanks, I'm going to Mini Tub and move the mono springs into 3" to the inner frame. Did you say your set up was SS springs, Caltracs and Rancho shocks. Your challenge may have been the SS springs and CALTRACs. Calvert says not to use SS springs with his system and to have 7-9 inches of front body travel with the pinion angle set 3-5 degrees nose down. I plan to put a 10X15 weld wheel with 6.5 backspacing and run a 29.5X 11.5X 15 slick. Thanks for the info I hope to get 1.40 on this setup

I had SS springs, then removed them and tried to Clatracs, mono leafs and Rancho shocks. Calvert told me to have 5 inches of travel, and I did have 5 inches. I also ran the Calvert front shocks, and really like those. They are about the easiest extending shock I have seen. It was never consistent. With the ladder bars, it will hook on ice! Thanks, Bob

just a suggestion but I would look into coil over shocks if you go ladder bars, the weight savings alone would be substantial
