If it's mild steel, it would be 1 3/4", not 1 5/8".

Hmmmmm Thats interesting, cause everyone that sells a 10 or 12 pt kit states that they are 1 5/8 by .134.. I know that on 8 points they a 1 3/4... And I'm pretty sure that the rule book I was looking at stated the same. Just trying to clearify...

You're correct. You never specified what you were building, my bad!!

I think the min. spec is .118 for ms, just you have to use the thicker wall to ensure it x-rays ok with no thin spots.

depends on what you are building. a cage you can use 15/8.

Or spend the extra money and use .120 wall DOM.
