I never paid much attention to this, but now I'm wondering.... The '69 Bees came with 2 different style tail lights. A mid model year change? I have 3 sets, 2 have 2 bulbs and 1 has 3 bulbs. Does anyone know when they were changed? And was the change from a 3 bulb to a 2 bulb or a 2 bulb to a 3 bulb? I have a '69 Bee I bought in '85 and then I bought another '69 Bee as a donor. The donor had some extra parts in the trunk, that's how I up with 3 sets of lights. I just do not remember what style came out of which. Non donor Bee is an A39 Spring Special ordered on 4-22-69. 2 bulb or 3?????

I am pretty sure the cars delivered after the first of the year had the 3 bulb lights. Government safty upgrade. The tail light is slightly different externally also.

Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.

Yeah, the later cars had the 3 bulb lights, though I'mnot sure of the date where the change was made. My old January SPD car had 3 bulbs.

As mentioned, the lenses themselves are different as well.
