Hey guys, I'm starting to Gasserize my 55 Belvedere. I'm going to use a B body 8 3/4, and want to put better leaf springs under it. the originals are worn out. Does anyone know if B body springs will work - or if there is a similar set from a different car that will work?

I have a set of SS springs for an A body, but the Front spring eye to perch locating pin is a different dimension than the Belvedere. (it would move the axle forward a few inches)

I think I want to raise the rear a little since i will be putting an axle under the front.

Any thoughts?

Just use some 3/16" plate and make your own spring perches. That way you can use what ever springs you want, and put them where you want them. Think along the lines of the spring relocation kits from Mopar performance, but build your own. Gene

Yep, also, I think the original 50's leaf springs are narrower than the muscle era junk, so even if they were the right length they would be the wrong width.

Speedway Motors sells a weld-on front hanger you can use to mount your springs whereever you want.
