im ready to install my steering column on my ta resto, and i noticed it may be for a 4 speed car and not the slapstik auto that my car is. instead of having the key release lever, it has a hole in the same area, although the part of the column spins like a auto column, it also has what appears to be a lock out on the lower part of the column. my question is; does a slapstik auto car supposed to have the lever for the key release, or is it supposed to have a hole instead? thank you

No seperate release lever in 1970.

The diagrams at the link below are for 1970 columns, they were a one year only deal. These may help you ID what you have;
