I've got to toot a horn a little bit here.....THere's no doubt that Charlie's bullet picked up Comella....a ton. But that wouldn't have come to fruition if there hadn't been a little suspension tweaking Thursday night. Dad absolutely nailed that thing, and he might have went a few more rounds without that red 2nd round.
Just wanted to give John Holt a little props for his suspension mastery...
Props to CW and John Holt---I just think its cool that Chuck's car is running so well!!!
Regards, John

Because the money is right, Bucky. They pay back to I believe the quarters. Last year, only four guys showed up. Both Westcotts, Woo, and Pancake. He guaranteed the payout, and paid, with cash I believe, with a big smile on his face. Plus, you get treated like gold, best parking, pretty much run when you want, and the fans are awesome. Go to Charlotte and dial in? To be home on Saturday anyways with fuel and entry fees pissed away? I'd go to Norwalk in a heartbeat. Plus, it's racing. If you thought you're bracket piece didn't stand a chance against CW, why did you even go to Indy?

why would someone go to indy to just race in a hemi shoot out.it's indy.my dad would rather win on monday and get the big wally than the 10 grand.he's been at this way before shootouts.see how many purpose built shoot out cars go up for sale when mopar bails out.most guys driving them can't race the finish line .indy class is a big deal to him of course, bigger than any race.but he likes it all.

I do not want to start another big internet war, but I have a few things to say.
Why would anyone spend 150K+ to build a car to bracket race. I built my car for the heads up racing, we built another one so my dad could do it. I am in the process of building another one now. I (we) do this cause we like to race heads up, no breakout. If I just wanted to bracket race I could do that close to home with a pick-up. Racing in general is driven by the male ego, we all have one, and when things go our way we like to let everyone know how cool we are. When people cant go fast they tell stories about why they should have went X amount faster, and if they had this and that fixed they would have won. I get sick of hearing all of it. It happens every year. Everyone had since bell-rose to get ready for indy, alot of people didnt even attend that race, so they had longer. There is no reason that someone cant be prepared. everyone had the same opportunity that we had. We had about .05 more performance advantage than we usually do. It was mostly related to the weather. I work hard on a hot weather engine package. when the air gets good, the spread will be narrowed considerably. That brings me to point 2. Bucky went the 8.46 with the "bracket motor" last year. now it is a dog. I dont get it. evidently it is a good air motor. As far as purpose built cars, you guys just got one, mine is turning into one of the older cars anymore since it was built in 03. My Gary Jennings chassis works just fine, and if people were more interested in winning the race, instead of a car show, they should call him. cw

well, forget i ever said any thing...it's hard to make a point on a keypad.it just seems like most of these cars just came out in force about 5 or 6 years ago.dad won the very 1st "MOPAR" shoot out.,so i think he can hang.although chuck kicked his butt this year, he drove well to get to the final.and his car was purpose built,to race.not just a shoot out.and charlie is right, that motor is a good air motor.it looks like it can't run in the heat.charlies dad said"that's all the boy does" is work on his car.and it shows....he's fast wherever he goes.maybe we should just put the car in car shows.
