I was just looking at LuvEBodies project and decided I should start my own forum. Here it is when I brought it home.

It was a "barn" find that sat partially disassembled since 1982. Took me 15 years to talk the owner into selling it. In the mean time kids had vandalized it and wrecked who knows how many dollars worth of parts. I have allot of work done on it now. I'll post some more pics later.

It is a 340 with a four speed. I had one years ago, can't wait to get it back together.

I may need to contact you about some parts, I am not yet sure I have everything. When I bought it it had headers and chrome sidepipes. I had them off before I got it off the trailer! I tracked down exhaust manifolds managed to get my hands on the correct intake and TQ carb. I will try to post some more pics.

Now lets leap forward about a year. I just got the glass installed and the re-chromed bumpers back on. Now it is starting to look like the car that I had pictured in my head when I bought it.

Thank you! Yes, it is the original colors. It is triple black with the flourecent orange R/T stipes. The stripes practically "glow in the dark". It took me awhile to get used to them. However, they have grown on me now. I'm glad I was able to locate them. (with help from MoParts) It did have a repaint in the mid 70's and I was told by the previous owner tha the stripe wasn't available back then. Not sure about that?? The ends of the stripes were present inside the door and fenders when I took them off. I also found the build sheet that calls for them. The interior is one that you either love or hate. I personally love it. It is black with orange/red/black plad inserts. It goes well with the body colors. My brother thinks they need to go, he hates them. They will be staying! The shaker bubble is organisol, I had never heard of this paint until I posted an inquiry on MoParts. I love this paint, it has a sparkle to it that sets it off nicely. Can't wait to get that little 340 back in there and set the shaker back on it. Thanks for the encouragement. It motivates me to keep after it.

I had a 71 R/T about 1978 and the only parts of the stripes I could buy at the dealer at that time were the stripes on the quarters, and those were common black stripes. (still have them in boxes downstairs).

That's a beautiful car. I agree with the others, the combo is Killer and something you won't see.

Very nice!
