We want to buy a new bare block for our Max Wedge Super Stock car for a later build. Where should we go?

Do you want an original block or a new one? Is it a class legal car? I think that the new Mopar Performance blocks are legal but you'll want to double check that. They are heavier than the original blocks if that matters.

413 blocks aren't that hard to find, original 426 blocks can be a little tougher to find. Factory MW blocks are very difficult to find but you don't need one of those unless it is a restoration project.

I just want to know where in Md you live so I can get a better look at your sweet 63 Maxie. It reminds me of a car George Donhouser had or still has and I believe he is from the Belair area. Ron

I think the only block currently available would be the MP/World P5153944 Block, Cast Iron, 440 Wedge, Siamese-Bore, Rough Bored at 4.31". I don't know if these would be legal for Stock/SS since they may have the cross-bolted mains. I don't know if there are any of the older Max Wedge replacement blocks still around. Several of those were on Ebag about six years ago and some of them were machined incorrectly. One I saw had the Hemi drain back holes drilled in the block. I tried to get one during a clearance sale back in 2001 ($400), but they were all gone PDQ.
