Hey guys, I have most of my major components in place for the 2010 show but I'm looking for your input. Some things I might even be able to implement as early as next year. I do listen to the suggestions that I receive and I try to do what I can to utilize them. Many of you have called, emailed and/or PM'd me and those folks know that I do listen and I've implemented many of those ideas. I can't do everything and NO I can't get rid of "the hill", make it cooler or stop people from decoding your fender tags However, I would like to hear ideas for celebrities, activities, etc...or an idea for something we've never tried before. No matter how off the wall it may seem, go ahead and throw it out there. You never know what might stick Feel free to PM me on here or email me directly at EdB@CarlisleEvents.comThanks everybody! Ed

After looking at the pic , A couple more trees would be nice .. Your show is the best ever .. Ive been going to your events for ? twenty years ? Dont know what would complement it ? You bring in celebs . Maybe a couple more like Big Willie or ? The car raffles need to get more enticing .. maybe real muscle cars with pedigree , what would be really cool would be a barn find aar cuda or challenger r/t or 71 6 pack car that would cost more than a fury ragtop bodo car , but Ill bet you more people would stay til Sunday for the raffle. I understand that a full blown resto would cost a lot . lower vendor food prices ? another real restroom for the ladies.. Two nights of racing at Quarter Aces ? Fri Nite ? I duno everything else is pretty nice .. Good Luck .

I agree , Ed. Everything is great ! Maybe another dealership for the cruise party. Grounds are always clean, security great, nice staff, sales are good. I don't know, maybe some "ringers" for the bikino contest ? LOL How about a way to buy spots . There were a ton of empty spots last show. If they know they are not coming, maybe first come-first serve to use their spot ? I am trying to upgrade mine to closer to my Uke brother Andy !

Ed, This was my first year to Carlisle. I bought a lot of new parts and a few used. There were a lot of things to liked about the event. I have been going to the Nats for ten years so in comparison Carlisle offered many unique things that I liked. The bathroom facilities are better but I had never seen tipping attendants before. It is an eight hour drive for me so we headed back home Saturday afternoon but I hope to get to go back soon. Thanks for having such a great event and keep up the good work. BTW, you were very helpful when I needed to make hotel arrangements and take in some sightseeing. Thanks!

Let everything else go before Carmany's (sp?) pretzels, best I've ever had. I have to commend you guys on your trash pick-ups. We always have a can by the Moparts tent and its serviced promptly - we do appreciate that. Your registration process and its speed are excellent too. I for one don't care about the car giveaway, burnout contest, bikini contest, etc, I'll go anyway - but I like that you still put the effort in to set it all up. The showroom is awesome - worth the walk. Since you can't move the fairgrounds to central New jersey, I have nothing else.

Better screening of the "beauty" contestants.

Rick,
I don't understand what you mean by this? Do you not like the current location or ??? I'm not quite following
To everyone else: Thanks for the compliments but I'd really like to hear some ideas and suggestions.
I like the idea of a class for G-Machines, or at least an area to feature them. There might not be enough for a class but I'd love to put a couple in Building T.
Someone suggested a Barn Find for a giveaway and believe me I've considered that. Anyway, the reason I picked out the Barn Find comment is because I am going to feature Barn Finds in Building Y next year. If you have, or know of, a really cool Barn Find please send them my way. I'm hoping to get some really cool/rare/interesting cars for that display. I'm also working with some of the restoration shops in hopes of having several of the 2010 Barn Finds return in 2011 fully restored
Along the same lines as Barn Finds I'm trying to create a new class of cars. I'm trying to create a class for cars that I would describe as "drivable barn finds" or cars that are too rough for the Survivors Display but are still very cool, fun to drive cars. Imagine a 340 Duster that still has most of its original paint (or an older repaint) but it's starting to show its age and maybe there's some rust here and there but overall the car is solid. Maybe is has Cragars with wide tires. I'm leaning toward calling them "Throwbacks" or maybe "Time Machines" but I'd love to hear some suggestions. I think this would be a great way to get some really cool cars out of storage and back on the road. The best part is the owner could truly enjoy the car and not sink a ton of money into a restoration.
