Mt sons car is coming together,
we have a stock 1998 5.9 magnum engine.
only mods are Edlebrock intake, 650 Double pumper, 1 3/4 headers. STock 904, maybe a 11" convert? We also have an explorer 8.8 with 4.10 posi,He will be running 295 drag radials and we will have caltracs good shocks etc, Shooting for a car weight with driver of 3100-3000 hoping to get the car in the 12's and run an 11.50 index with a lil plate nitrous system

i know a friends dakota pickup with the same engine (factory fuel inj) ran 14.30's bone stock and in the 13's at a whopping 3900lbs...

Should run pretty good for a little street car. What camshaft is in it?

The only recommendation I would make is more converter.

cam is stock, motor is untouched, all we are doing is putting an intake and headers on it, 50,000 mile engine

When I first put my dakota together it was very close to what you have and it ran 13.70s at 3465 lbs with me in it. It was stock except for a pro products airgap intake and 650 D/P. I have a 727 with a PTC 9.5 converter and thats the only difference I see between the two. I put some R/T 2.02 heads with some pocket porting done and a .230/.234 @ .50 .488/.513 lift cam in it and it picked it up to 12.50s a with a 125 shot it runs right on 11.50s
