I will probably end up buying a cheap older truck Dana does matter if its a ford,chevy,mopar.It will be shortened and axles made for it, 410-488 gears with a Detroit Locker

Their are Dana 60, Dana 60 HD (a bit beefier/heavier housing) and other even larger/heavier Dana rears (ex: Dana 70) that look similar.

The Dana 60 for trucks do not have provision for a pinion-snubber and typically are 30-spline (same as 8 3/4 Mopar) versus the 35-spline side gears of the car-type Dana 60.

Green Bearings will come in handy if this is a Car-Conversion.

Below is a Top-View of a Dana 60 HD, slightly heavier (some would say unnecessarily heavier, excess weight) but even these can work as good car-rears.

I see used, perfectly good units sent to the crusher every week at the local Pick-A-Part.
