I ran my Duster this weekend at Madras,OR on Saturday, we got rained out today Just kidding on the complaints, the last time I ran the car there in May it had the 8 3/4 with 4:30 gears in it, this time the Dana 60 with 4:10, same tires and pressures. The weather in May was 72F, 37% humidity, 30.28 Baro. Pressure and 2380 observed altitude with the altimeter set at 29.92. The car ran 7.352 ET at 93.56 MPH. Yesterdays(10-3-09) weather was a little cooler and damper,46 F,50 % humidity, 30.30 B.P. and the altimeter with 29.92 dialed in read 2490 ft, the car ran a best of 7.291 at 93.56 MPH. No tuning or chassis changes made, just the rear end swap and gear change. I am hoping(weather permitting) to get the car to a 1/4 track before the end of the year to see what this motor (464 C.I. pump gas motor) will run at sea level or near sea level I did run this motor in Las vegas at the MATS race this year and it ran a best of 11.455 ET at 117.46 MPH I was testing carburetors and wasted two runs in time trials doing the testing BTW, I woke up to two inches of snow at my house but no snow in Madras 45 miles to the north of Bend It was barely drissling(SP), just enough to call the race off

We would be a good race as my best 1/8 is 7.30 @ 93 mph with 11.50's in the 1/4. Glad to hear you got it out and raced it. Ron

Your results are promising for my brothers car. We are wanting to step up to a Dana and ditch the 8 3/4 before we have problems. The issue that we are having is several people tell us that a Dana 60 wont clear the factory fuel tank in the 69 Cuda. The car 60 foots 1.40-1.43 consistently @ 3250lbs. We dont want to break at the track. Weve never been pushed or towed off the track and we dont want to start any time soon. If anyone knows whether or not the stamped steel cover will clear the factory fuel tank in our car please let me know.

10.53 @ 125mph. 1.37 60 foot. Caltracs and Monoleafs, AFCO shocks.

Dana 60 cover/girdles don't clear A-body gas tanks. Most other types do.

Come on Cab, you could have mounted up the chains on the duster and got a new best 60...glad to hear all went well, now its time to drop in that new found power from the 527 and get that 9. ..Phill

Brian, I used the stock steel cover and my rear end is moved forward one inch from stock, the cover clears the stock Duster gas tank with room to spare( probally two to three inches). I think the distance on the 8 3/4 from the center of the axle to the rear of the bulge over the ring gear is the same or more than on the Dana 60 That doesn't sound right but I think it is
