them and is there any tricks to it? I see the stock studs have been pressed to help hold the drum to the hub, what do I do about that when I put the longer studs in?

That crimp (swedged)can be a real problem pressing the old studs out, it can ruin the hub by making it bend if you don't use a spacer behind it when removing the old stud. I think you would be smart to try and grind that crimp down some before starting to press them out

Yes grind them. I had to replace a few this summer, and it's alot easier if you grind the swedges down first.

you got it, a lot of cars come with no drum retainers, some come with retainers and Ma Mopar had a better way, swedging, usually on the drivers side with the left hand threads on the studs and nuts my 1963 Belevedere M.W. car had swedging on both front drums from the factroy Be careful on the grinding, don't mess the threads up on the studs if you want to reuse them again some day
