I thought I had fixed a leak from the pivot pin area with a dab of silicon. It lasted about 6 months but is now leaking again.

I seem to remember being able to push in the cylinder, but it is now firm.

Any suggestions?

Thx

This spot, thought it was called a pivot pin?

That is the anchor pin for the low/reverse servo fulcrum... If you remove the tailshaft it can slide out.. To get it to slide out remove the trans pan & valve body.. When you slide it out only move it out far enough to replace the "O" ring then slide it back in... If you slide it out to far things will get more complicated...

The external RTV fix only works if the fluid level is drained to a level below the pin and the area thoroughly cleaned prior to application of the RTV. If the fluid level remains above the pin the fluid will continue to leak out as the RTV is curing and it won't bond.

Are you sure it is the pin and not the tail shaft bolt above it? The bolt does not look stock, and I think the bolt hole os open in the case so it needs thread sealer on the bolt.
Anyhow, as mentioned the pin seals to the case with an "O" ring on the pin, but if you pull it out the reverse band lever, and parts will fall out of place.
You did not say what RTV you used? I would tru cleaning the old RTV out, clean the area with beake cleaner and try sealing it with the black MOPAR transmission RTV. The Mopar transmission RTV seems to work great! I had a crack in my filler tube where the "O"-ring sits, and I just smeared the black RTV around the tube and O-ring and plugged it back in, and no more leaks.
