MoparBilly did. I'm not sure of his combo but he might chime in. I know it had a little spray to get him there.

Ran 8.70's with a stock block 400/499 with Indy 440-1's on spray, Dart weighed 3450 with me in it. Tall fill, Pro Gram caps, Oliver rods. Wound up hurting the pistons in it but thats just because they weren't set up for spray. If I was to do another stock block, it would be with aluminum rods and main caps.

400 block, low fill (to half way of the freeze plugs) and aluminum main caps.

Up until about three years ago every SS/AH guy used a factory block. Most, if not all, of the new engines use the new World block, but it is still similar to a factory one. When Jim Pancake set the record in 2006 with his Cuda @ 8.55 & 155 it was a stock block. 3210 lbs.

They have the advantage of cross bolted mains though.

The stock block may hold up for awhile, but it will eventually split down the mains and then into the cylinder walls. Ask me how I know.

Are you really sure about the stock block in SS/AH cars? As far as I remember, when Bartons first were the "big dog" in SS Hemis, they credited the new more rigid and thicker deck blocks for much of the added performance. The new blocks allowed them to mill somne 3/8+" of the decks too which helped with the enormous piston weight. That must be some 10 years ago?
