The logs have a 2" outlet and the HP's are 2&1/2" & work even better w 3" mandrel exhaust pipes right up to the 2&1/2" flange. As said different location and the 2" ones would be extremely restrictive on a 440.

Yep, lots of differences are there.
The 'clocking' of the outlet flanges varies based on the year of the manifold (meaning, the rotation of the bolt hole pattern), plus on the driverside teh angle of the flange WRT the ground changes a lot (especially on C-body manifolds.
HP manifolds are generally 2 1/2" outlets IIRC and most logs are 2" or 2 1/8", so smaller pipes choke the flow.
Year One used to have some good info on teh flanges in their catalog, might be on their website somewhere.
Don't forget, you need all the sleeve nuts for the HP manifolds also!
Parts I seek:
driver doorpanel, 65 Sport Fury, prefer black, needs to be 7-8 on 10 scale, might buy set
16" x 6" Dodge truck wheel(s), from early 70s?, takes 9" dogdish - need for a research job so cheaper is better.
69-73 C-body caliper brackets and/or splashields
Send a PM.

The 440 is taller and wider than the 383 also. Think your stock exhaust will still bolt up even with the stock logs? Do yourself a favor. Do it right the first time. It'll be cheaper in the long run.

why are you swapping the 383 for the 440?
I dont understand the conversion but sticking with the choked down exhaust system?
My 383 is tired, so I pulled a 440 out of a donor C body Im rebuilding and will bolt in. My 17 year old is springing the cash for the project so the cost needs to be spread out over time. We can spend money on the manifolds and exhaust later.

Im hoping wthe exhaust will have enough flexibility to mount up to the 440. As explained above cost is an issue all at one time.

This is Moparts. Budgets don't count, we don't care. You must install the parts we choose because this shall become our fantasy project, not yours! And if that 440 is even the slightest bit tired, a stroker crank and alum heads will be debated next, quickly followed by a 440Source hijack debate. Joking aside, don't worry too much about running logs on a mild 440 - they aren't ideal, but you can still have a strong runner if the 440 is in good health. As mentioned already, if you have an H-pipe setup, better plan on cutting the H when going from 383 to 440. You can probably reseal it with a $13 bandclamp afterward, though.

The car actually has just 2 seperate pipes going all the way to the back, as a matter of fact, I had to clamp strap them together in the center because the offset weight actually rotated one of them at the manifold flange, so I think I have plenty of flexibility to move them around.

No problem there , as long as it's not a Y pipe you'll have no issue bolting it to the 440 .
