going from a 165/r/15 steel belted radial that weights 19-20# each to a drag front that weights 11# each?

I read a tech bulletin on M/Ts web site that states 1# of unsprung weight is = to 8# of sprung weight.

I know when I put on my new slicks I tried some tubes in them and it slowed down my 60ft so the tubes came back out

I know that when I went from 4 wheel drums and a sure grip to 4 wheel wilwoods and a spool my ET improved considerably.

no one has any opinions on this.

I don't have a opinion on the changes but my personel expereinces with switching the 165x15 radials on 3.5 inch wide centerlines to M/T ET 26x15 fronts mounted on a set of 3.5 Bodarts(lighter than the Centerlines by about 3 lbs each) at the same time as I switch from a set of M/T ET Street bias ply 13x30x15 mounted on a set of 10 inch wide Bodarts to a set of M/T ET Street Radials mounted on a set of Weld Wheel 10 inch wheels(almost the same weightas the Bodarts, + or - 2 lbs maybe ) was the car went faster on the radials. It does not slow down when I mix the radials on the front with the bias plys on the back or when mixing the bias plys on the front with the radials on the rear Your results may be different ( I have three different sets of tires and rims, two sets of radails and one set of bias plys, it is a street and strip car )
