What's the standard width on a '68-'70 B body rearend? And where do you normally take the measurement from?...flange? backing plate? axle flange? Thanks, CHIP

Thanks for the info Wedgie and Jerico! Yes, I am slowly putting things together for the road runner. Need to get the 9" housing cut and the ends welded on. Already have a complete Moser nodular centersection for it. Motor is ready to go, but need to build another transmission since the one originally intended for this car wound up in the 'cuda when I blew it up last year. Has a long way to go, but I'm in no hurry. Just gonna make a fun ride out of it, maybe try to run it on E-85. CHIP

I am using Mopar housing ends on a Ford 9", so I'll be fine with the measurements from the housing flange. CHIP

The distance between the outer edge of the axle bearings and the axle flange vary from manufactuter, Mopars A body 8 3/4 distance is different (shorter, narrower brakes) than the B,C and E body are. I don't have a clue on how many different distances Ford used between the axle flanges and the bearings on there production vehicles
