To much lift at launch, pulling the wheels to high and running out of rpms so it comes down and smashes the oil pan. Replaced the pan three times in three outing . Two 7" and now a 6, made it 5 1/4 with a extra drain hole. How do ya control front end lift? Shocks? chain it down? or just put on wheelie bars.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

I would try stiffer front shock settings and I would coreect the rear spring shackle angle, it may be adding to the problem instead of running out of RPM as you said. Most of the cars that I have driven and help on that did wheelies would set the front tires down slowly or gently enough to not smash the oil pan, one exception was a car that had the rear shackle angle almost straight up and down when sitting at static ride hieght with no preload on the suspension like you get when foot braking in 1st gear. Tha car would porpoise up and down going forward and try to hook and pull the front tires off and then porpoise and spin the rear tires and try to hook and porpoise again You can tie the front in down also which may or may not help, it works on some cars and not on others How about the lower control arm bumpers, what shape and size are they? I have also raised the front end ride hieght to limit the amount of hieght on the wheelies, less travel = less hiegth

Cab, now running ladder bars with coil over shocks. Switched to 29.5 x 11.5 w's 13.5 wide and running 4;56 gears with a liberty pro shifted doug nash. Problem is low gear is a 3.25 which is a standard ratio for that trans and once the clutch is dropped it needs to be shifted before the 60 ft and the wheels are up to high and the power drops off and down it comes. I think i'll try a stiffer front shock to control the lift and rebound . Does a stock heavy duty type shock work both ways? I still have the stock front suspension.

You are dead hooking the tire, and grunting the car into a wheelie.

10 to 15% tire spin is the ultimate traction situation.

Try adding more air and see what it does.

The stock OEM and most replacement front shocks are 50-50, equal restistance both ways. It sounds like you need 2.4 or higher low gear ratio instead of what you got I remember driving a freinds 340 small block 4 speed Duster with a Dana 60 rear with 5:57 ratio and a 3:09 first gear with a 13x30x 15 Firestone slick, it was a handful for the first 500 ft It would make your arm sore after a day at the races Just kidding, shift it out of first gear at the tree usually
