Not so pleased with the rearend of my 72.. Wanna try 15x10" (5,5" backspace) wheels
That involves moving the leafsprings inwards. Is this a simple job..? Any "kits" that dont require welding available..?

It's not a simple job. It requires a lot of measuring, fabrication, cutting and welding.

I make a 1 1/4" offset spring hanger/shackle kit for '71-'74 B-bodies.

You must weld on new spring perches, but if you install one side at a time, you don't have to measure anything.

Please E-mail me for more information.

As above, offset hangers are an option that may provide enough clearance to satisfy you, but you will still need to weld new spring-mount pads onto the rear-axle tubes.

No way around that bit of welding, and you will need to locate the new mount-pads at the revised width and correct pinion-angle.

I explored the offset spring hangers years ago, but eventually chose to relocate using the Mopar Performance Leaf-Spring-into-Framerail Relocation Kit.

I fit P315/60R15 - 30"x11.5”x15” Micky Thompson ET Street D.O.T. Drag Radials and a Dana 60 to my '71 Charger.

Here is a "How-To" on what is involved:

Spring Relocation

If you install one side at a time, you don't have to calculate pinion angle or measure anything.

As long as the "original" pinion angle is/was correct.

The pinion-angle is not always correct/ideal as found, due to wear/sag, swapped/replacement parts, sloppy work from the factory, etc.

That said, if currently it's correct, Dr. Diff makes an excellent point.

DC - did you also have to move the inner fender to fit that size tire?

I moved my springs with new perches. Everything came out perfect. Four years later, I changed from SS springs to CalTracs. Had to cut the perches and reweld them. If you need more than 1", it is a job to move the spring under the frams rails.

Answer: I didn't need to "move" the inner fenderwell to fit that size tire, but I did need to roll the quarterpanel wheel-opening lip upward/under a bit.
