I have an 1150 quickfuel dominator on my 500. I can't get the car to stay running. I have tried messing with the four corner idle and all the obvious but nothing works. My buddy seems to think that the carb may not have a power valve and that's why it won't stay running. I bought the carb used and am unsure if it has one or not. How do I check for one and any other ideas what the problem may be?

the pv does not funktion at idle.
but if you dont have one and there is no plug in its place well then you have problems.
I would be suprised if you could not get it to idle if it is the way it came from the factory.

The carb came off of a buddies 622" big chief. I haven't had an opportunity to ask him about the pv yet.

The idle air bleeds are #7. The four corner screws are out 1 and 1/2 turns.

Forget the power valve, if it has one plug it, set the idle screws out .5 and start from there. If you get to 1.5 turns out and it still won't idle then take it apart and wire check all passages as HemiFred says.

I am not sure, haven't really tried that. It dies unless you are giving it throttle And holding it over 1000 rpm.

If a #7 is a .070 air bleed then the carb is very lean at idle. The larger the air bleed the less fuel drawn.
I have .053 air bleeds and have to open the mixtures screws 2 3/4 turns. This is on a 493. I have a Pro-systems Dominator
Above 1000rpm the carb is probably running off the main jets. Then, when it goes to idle, dies from being too lean.

i think your timing is way too low. advance it to at least 35 degrees, i bet your problem is solved.

i just had trouble getting mine to idle.it was at 1800rpm and i wondered why.well i had all the sec blades open too much. i undid the linkage and went through all the settings to check for issues.the basics. maybe start there.it can be tricky figuring out what is wrong but take your time and write it down what you did.

I looked at the idle air bleeds closer, they are #47. I didnt see that there would be a problem with the timing being at 30* other than having to turn the idle rpm up. It is that low due to nitrous and will eventually be lower. I had no problem with my old setup starting and idling at 26*.
