Hi,

The oil dipstick in my '70 challenger is missing, and since ordering these kind of parts outside the US is fairly difficult, I was thinking of making one myself.
However, I do not know the exact length of the engine oil dipstick of a 1970 Challenger, 225 cu slant 6 engine, and second, I wouldn't know where exactly to put the scaling on the dipstick.
Someone of you who could help me out by measuring these things up on his own dipstick?

Thanks a lot!

If I had one I'd send the measurements - bit I don't. I just did this about 2 weeks ago with a dipstick I picked up at a swap meet, but was too long. Since then, picked up a correct stick, compared to another I had which was correct, measured, cut with a dremel, made the hash marks for low and full with the cutting wheel, it was simple - and it already had the correct handle -hope someone with a 225 stick will give the measurements - Joe

You might hunt around for some slant 6 dedicated forums. I know they're out there. Good Luck.

You can buy a mopar performance dipstick at you local dealership. Change you oil. Fill to correct level put new dipstick in and mark at top of fresh oil on stick with moto tool. Now you know thats the level to keep it at. And you have a new dip stick. Nice car

Thats what I did--its really the only way to ensure that how much the stick says is in the pan really IS in the pan.

Since he is in Belgium, that may be more CHALLENGING (PUN INTENDED) but he could order one online from one of the dealers.

If I had one, I'd just send it to you.

Pretty car though!

There are Mopars vendors who will ship USPS international to Belgium, that is usually surprisingly cheap. Look on ebay, for example . Biggest issue may be the slant 6. If you can modify a SB or BB you'll be OK, if not I don't know where you'd get a /6
