I've been running 15 pounds in Jersey but am now at Monster Mopar and I just blew the tires off. Does anyone run this or a similar tire and at what psi?

All the racers I know that run the M/T radails, regardless of weight, HP or suspensions, run between 18 and 22 lbs. Just remember that most air pressure gauges are not exactly the same on readings. Play around with your tires with your gauge only to find out what reading works the best on your tires and car. I run the 315x60x15 M?T ET Street Radails (on both ten inch and twelve rims) on my 3400 lb. Duster with ladder bars, it will spin the tires really bad the first run at the track (no matter what kind of burn out) after driving it on the street. That car runs mid tens at 128 MPH with a best 60 ft. time of 1.43 so far(518 stroker and 727 trans), I have tested 17 to 22 lbs so far and 18 lbs works the best on my guages(SP?)

18lbs worked best for me in my 3800 lb race weight 63 dodge and also my 4000 lb 65 Coronet wagon. Both ran 275/60 MT drag radials. My 63's 60 ft was 1.63-1.66 at 11.5-11.7. The wagon went 1.48's at 11.0's. Not sure about the 4 speed factor though. You may have to mess with it.

I run 18 in my 275/60 Hoosier DR's. @ 3700 lbs.

Buddy of mine runs the 275/50's on his Mustang & it does not hook as well, those are M/T's. The shorter sidewall seems to be too stiff compared to the 60 series.

Another local I race W/ runs the same 275/60 I run on his 3800 LB BB Chevelle, it works best @ 15-16. Any less than that & traction is worse....

I run 17.5 psi on 8" rims w/ my auto 3750# E-body. Any less pressure and the sidewalls folded up and "let loose" on the launch. They've gone a best of 1.459 60-ft. w/ this setup.

FWIW, I think a stick car is still suited better to bias-ply tires because their sidewalls absorb the shock to the tires better when the clutch is dumped.
