Who makes the best valve cover gaskets? I
want something that seals well, and has to be re-usable.

Those are the ones I always use, but they tear every time I remove them.
I'm going to try the Moroso rubber ones.

Mr Gasket Ultraseal with cast aluminum covers works for me. I tried Stock covers with the Moroso gaskets. I had oil all over the place. Changed back to the cast covers but reused the Ultraseals as they still looked perfect. When I need to replace the gaskets I suppose I will try the Morosos again but with the cast covers.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Do you have any problem with them sticking? It's getting expensive having to buy new gaskets every time I check to valves.

Really? The ones I have aren't really that paperlike. I have had other valve covers gaskets tear, but not these, but, I think I may have put a little oil around the sealing surface before I installed them. Not sure if that made a big difference or not.

i use Fel-Pro Performance Z1611 - Fel-Pro Performance Fel-CoPrene Valve Cover Gaskets
15.95 at summit these dont leak, but you do have to re-torque them after they have been heated once then they are good to go... no leaks, reusable. i only have a set of cheaper stamped steel chrome valve covers these are the only ones i use. cork will crack and split if tightened too much and the rubber will split and deform if you try to reuse them.. i have found.

The $8 cork versions are the only ones that dont leak on MY combo

Tried the Moroso blue ones with 3 different valve covers , all of them leaked like crazy
They seem to work great for most engines though

P4120101 are orange rubber from ma MOPAR. They last for years. They work well on stiff valve covers. They are a well kept secret.

RIP

Is that for a set of 2 ? I am using the orange OEM style 4027092...aren't they the same?
All I know is that there ain't no leaks...they don't split out like the Moroso Blues, and they are a lot more forgiving than corks.
Even seal good on Eddy heads which from what I can see are a SOB to keep sealed.Ya don't have to keep every 5 runs!

I ordered a set of Moroso blues.
If those don't work I will try the MP orange.

No cork, no orange silicone[ they seem to swell and then bulge]. RBRE paper for both wedge and Hemi.

Never used the 'good' gaskets so I can't help there. I have cork gaskets glued to the head with silicone. I've had the valve covers off many times for valve adj and no problems, just put the tin covers back on and go.

All I've ever used are cork gaskets. NEVER leaked. Here's how.

Clean the sealing surface of the valve cover. Make them SPOTLESS!!!

Use a good quality rtv, to "glue" the gasket to the valve cover. Then turn them over, on a workbench or something, and put some weight on the cover. Let it sit overnight.

Then, when you are ready to install the valve covers, smear a coating of grease on the head's sealing surface, or the gasket. Torque them down, and you're good to go.

As long as you have grease around the whole perimeter of the head's "lip", the gasket will never stick.
