HI, after eventually destroying my 318 block I am looking around for a 360 with roller lifters to bolt my (LA) Edelbrocks on. Is there a way to make this work with a Magnum? Are the MAgnum 360 still externally balanced? Any way like that flexplate which is out there for the LA 360 tu run neutral converter? Alternatively I would use an older 360 and need to get the retrofit roller lifters - really want a roller cam! Greets flo

you can drill horizontally into the back of the LA head(s)then up top slightly countersink drill part way down in the threads on the rear pedestal so you have a place to start drilling downward at an angle to meet the horizontle passage. feed it from the extra oil passage at the rear of the block that is currently plugged & T off of it to feed both heads. EDIT when I typed pedestal I meant the LA rocker stand to avoid confusion.

And to further clarify - weld them on the flexplate, not the converter.
If the converter is a lockup model the welds will fall on the region the clutch applies. The welds will cause some distortion in those areas and could damage the clutch when it applies.
OEMs weld the lugs on and then machine for the clutch surface.
Parts I seek:
driver doorpanel, 65 Sport Fury, prefer black, needs to be 7-8 on 10 scale, might buy set
16" x 6" Dodge truck wheel(s), from early 70s?, takes 9" dogdish - need for a research job so cheaper is better.
69-73 C-body caliper brackets and/or splashields
Send a PM.

I'm gonna hi-jack the thread for one question. Is the magnum engine and the LA 360 roller have pedestals for the the rockers or does one have a common rocker shaft? If there is a difference there would be the reason for me to pick one over the other. Alright, i'm done. You can have it back now.

LA roller 360 like all LA engines is a shaft mounted rocker
Magnum pedestals.
Magnum's main advatage is in the head better flowing, better combustion chamber and 1.6 rockers
LA lots of intake choices and aftermarket head choices compared to the magnum

is ther any offer out there for a short block with rolelr lifter provisiosn and LA oiling and the pistons at zero deck? The MP 360 shortblock would be great but if I understand it correctly pistons are 040 below deck...

On a magnum 5.9 the weights are on the flex plate not the converter so all you have to do is makesure the flex plate is on the motor when you pick it up from the junk yard. You will have to use the newer style starter with the newer flex plate but they are way better anyhow.
