I'm no expert but, I think a little more pre-load should fix it. My Dart was doing the same thing (ladder bar) so I lengthened the lower adjuster a half turn and it goes straight as a string now.

I moved my 4 link instant center forward and higher (58 out and 14" up)and it worked much better and car 60' it's best ever and goes straight every run, however it tends to roll over on the right rear and lift the left front slightly higher, Would a little more preload solve this?
Put a anti roll bar on it.... I dont like to add any more pre load than is needed to make it go straight

I think Monte stated on another post that it was ok to add preload to correct that problem. the upper right bar. but I am not sure if the bar should go out or in?

in effect that would change the wheelbase.
and make the rear out of square

See where it says "I"... I still feel that way. Reason why is if you set alot of preload when you snap out of the pedal on top end it can drive the car one way. Also when you guys are talking the bars I and most all chassis guys use the lower bars to set wheel base and square the rearend, top left to set pinion angle and top right to set pre load

with how to set the bars. but I wouldn't hesitate to make a preload adjustment to get the car down the track straight and level

and make the rear out of square
thus on launch making the car automatically steer to right or left depending which side you tried to preload
I'm not talking about taking the front eyelet on the ladder bar and lengthening it. I'm talking about the adjuster on the under side of the ladder bar where it mounts to the rearend. I followed my chassis guys instructions. Car used to spin and go right, now it hooks and goes straight. 1.35 in the 60' just last Saturday.
we are talking 4 link not ladder bar.

First Chally427, I understood you were talking about ladder bars and was trying to be helpful and I really appreciate it. Don't stop trying to help. What I did was a couple of weeks ago, I had moved the bars back like a lot suggested, and It just didn't work well, well I noticed the car seemed to have been dogtracking for quite a while. Well the rear was way out of square, more than you would think by looking at and seeing it run. I took it apart, moved ic to about 58 out and 14 inches up, squared it and picked up over a tenth. 60' times dropped 4-5 hundreths. A little more playing with the shocks and it was more consistant than it has been in 2 years. Went from running 10.20's to 10.0's in bad air and 9.92 at Norwalk .Picked up almost 3 tenths and my friends wanted to know what I did, lol all I did was square it up. Anyway it leaves pretty good and straight but it tends to roll over a little on right rear and pull the left front a little higher.I was the one Monte told to use the Preload if I needed it, but neither of us knew the rear was so jacked up. Now it is much better, and going straight and I was a little apprehensive to put more preload if that was the wrong way to cure the roll.Jon Holt set it up a few years back and it was great. He said it wasn't fast enough for a anti roll bar, and when He got done, it didn't need it.Lack of free time to get it back to him has led me to try things myself. Believe me all, all advise is appreciated. Thanks Dan
