I am almost finished cleaning all the rubber undercoat off the bottom of my Duster. What type of paint should I go back with to resist any oil and debris? What do you fellas use? Or will regular automotive paint be fine? This will by no means be show worthy under the car just want to clean it up a little, by the way the only driving it will see is on the strip an 1/8 th of a mile at a time.

I have considered that. But I wouldn't mind using the spray gun to cover such a large area. The whole bottom of the car plus the rearend.

Rust Bullet. I use lots of it and swear by it. Its highly resistant to gas and oil too.

A medium to light color makes it easier to see the undercarriage; black hides things - and burnout rubber - but it's harder to see what you're working on.

high gloss finishes will help the chassis slice through the under carriage currents much better than flats or even semi-glosses.

I like to use the thin black undercoating that comes in the spray cans and glossy black engine paint on the rear end

I doubt that he will be going fast enough in the 1/8 mile for that to make any measurable difference.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

PPG Delfleet Essential! Low cost polyurethane enamel. Nice gloss, single stage, good coverage, durable. Uses a hardener and an activator, no reducer needed. Will be easy to clean once cured.

I like the gloss paint as it is easier to clean off. Ron
