Took the car out to Lapeer yesterday for some T&T. It ran good, a best of 12.35 @ 113.32 and that was with a 2.0 60ft. Good MPH for this combo,I need to work on traction first then fine tune. The Car: 73 Challenger 416 stoker 10.5 cr. Comp hydraulic 250* with .525 lift M1 single plane w/holley vac secondary 750 Hooker SC 1 3/4" thru 2 1/2 pipes to dynomax super turbos exiting at the axle. 727 with a 3500 stall 10" convertor to 4.30 gears on BFG 275/60x15 drag radial @18psi. I have the rear springs clamped but I'm thinking Super stock springs and a Pinion snub should be the next step. the car weighs in at 3780 with me in it(yea I know get out and lighten the car 200lbs). I have a set of e-body SS springs rate for 3300lbs. do you guys think these would be worth a shot or should I sell them and pick-up Higher rated springs(3600 or 3800)? thanks

Before you change the springs buy a set of good drag tires As far as a pinion snubber don't waste your time or money, a good set of springs will never let the snubber hit the floor The springs you have should work well with a good set of tires as long as the rear shocks are not topping out Did you clamp the front half or all of the springs?

And a good set of adjustable shocks to get the car transfering weight. I bet the car will run 11s with a good setup...not bad for Lapeer

Do you have a old set of front shocks that you don't need If so drill them at the bottom and drain them first(be careful, don't get any of that stinky oil on you ) before buying a set of 90-10 race shocks I have tested a lot of front shocks on different cars, I now have the Koni SPA on the front of my street car ( BB powered 1971 duster)that runs 1.43 60 ft. times on M/T ET Street Radails Those shocks are good shock for both the strip and street, they are speed sensing according to Koni BTW, if you want a set you have to buy the ones for the B bodys as Koni doesn't list them for A bodys like our cars
