As for the costs I would say just throw out a mail to a couple of them engine builders to see what their advice would be along with a quote. I don't think these guys will post a quote on here. Myself I THINK it takes around 20-25k. Why not a 636ci by the way.
For engine builders, maybe guys like "For Hemis Only", "Best Machine", "Dram", "BG Racing" or whoever might chime in... There will be more with experience in that area here.
Good luck!

My guess on price would be 25k+ for a HEMI of that power and size. The quality of the parts obviously dictates the price of the completed engine. What it boils down to is who is going to complete the labor the cheapest. It seems that all the major engine builders get about the same deal on parts. Im not sure what the engine builders are getting to build there engines labor wise including machining costs. I could easily see that engine getting up to $30k with good parts i.e. World block, Callies crank, Carrillo Rods, CP pistons, Stage V Raised port heads, Stage V rockers, etc. .. You may be able to find an older Mega block for cheaper, buy a Eagle crank, Eagle rods, JE pistons, Indy rockers etc. for cheaper. I would go with the better stuff on a HEMI. Thats just me personally. Anyways, there are many good engine builders on this site.

605 requires a raised cam and a 572 does not. 605 does seem like a nice displacement and the extra 30+ cubes would help out some. My motor is costing me $25K+ I am building an aluminum street 572ci. I could build a motor that will make the same power and be the same size for probably 5k less than mine is costing me (using different parts) Mine has no compromises though.
I have more just in parts than what I've seen a some complete motors (including labor) being sold for, but mine has all top quality stuff in it...KB, Callies, Oliver, Diamond, etc. I wanted mine to be extremely durable/reliable since I drive the crap out of it every time I am in it. I build my own stuff and do most of my machine work myself so that helps a lot. You can build one that makes the same power for less money, but how long will it last? Cheap parts have no place in a motor of this caliber. CHIP

Mine`s a 875HP (dyno`d 875h / 750ft/lbs )557" Ray Barton / KB motor with JE pistons , Oliver Rods , Bryant crank , and am running the RBRE independent rocker system . Like the guy said above 20 - 24k Or you could take your chances and buy a crate from MP Perf for 14k and it would look similar. Chryco

I thought you could build a 604 (4.50 x 4.75) without having to go to a raised cam block by using steel rods? Oh, I'm talkin the superior wedge engine of course
