just installed new ATI case. used all the old parts from last trans. t/b not holding in low but works in reverse? disconnect cable to eliminate any problems there. Never heard of a similar problem but was concerned about any shimming of solenoid to correct it.
It's just confused from being in the wrong brand of car

did you use the same valve body and selanoid?? If not your selanoid is probably too short. I believe they come in 3 different lenghts, the throw on the plunger that is. edit: just read you reused all the parts. My guess is the case is thicker at the selanoid mount making yours to short? just a thought

Fred Just curious...How is the case made in the back to allow the standard and Double dump style (pro brakes)...This is the place were we use to drill the case through near the reverse piston? I would imagine it would have plugs or something?
Just wondering..

Ran into the exact same thing when I went to the BTE Pro-Brake Valve Body from my ATI Brake....I used the ATI Solenoid and the plunger was the wrong size....got the right one and it has worked flawlessly ever since

note all internals from previous trans were used . no new parts added . same v/body and it all worked
If you still have the old case...maybe ck the thickness where the solenoid mounts for any difference....just a thought....mine did the same as Waynes = same symptom as yours

Nah I have just not been hanging around here nearly as much these days.
So what did you find if anything yet?

Sounds like a case of "Old Timers", happens on occasion, ask me how I know
Happy to hear it was a simple fix
