Jet the carb up and put some M/T drag radials on it and you should have your 12 A 13.30 should have around a 1.85 60ft. Our little 360 Duster runs 12.40's with a 1.73 60ft @ 109 mph. I would think with jetting and tires you could easily run those numbers.

Thanks Wedge. I hear you loud and clear about the 60' times and slicks. But the last car I ran on slicks (68 Charger R/T 440), I started breaking parts(see pressure plate pic below). This Duster will only see the track about 4 times a year.

but I want 12's!!!
Put a small block in it!
man, that sixty foot time is atrocious...I would go drag radials, SS springs, good shocks, etc.

Is this a 4-speed car??..if so good luck trying to get it to hook on street tires...by the way if you ain't breaking things you ain't going fast..
yeah, it's a 4 gear. And I know the 60' times are really poor, but I tried a number of different launch techniques and haven't had much success with any of them.

with the tires you have im sure your best bet would be to leave on idel and them get after it, that alone should get you a 1.8 60', otherwise get some MT radials as said before and hang on...Thats an easy 12.5 car just need to hook it up.....Phill
Thanks Phill, I try idling out of the hole and see what happens.
TJ, the 'go' pedal doesn't come up until I cross the line at the big end.

might be time to jet up
BTW, my mid-fifteen second Valiant was knocking off 2.21 sixties; I'd agree with all the guys who point to the 60's needing work.
Tried an adjustable pinion snubber? Putting one in, and setting it tight made a difference on my car.
Knocking a couple tenths off that launch will get you real close to the twelve second zone, and your car has enough wheaties to do the job.
BTW, are the tires Radial T/As? It's been twenty years since I ran a set, but my recollection is that they would spin fairly easy.

Kid , as other said you need to jet the carb up , adding all that air made you go lean . You need to come out of the hole on those tires just above idle , as soon as you get moving floor it , but you should get a set of street sticky's if you want to really get all you can out of it. Street radials suck at the track.
I thought I was doing this technique, but maybe I was still a little 'hot' leaving the line. I try again!

The big difference in your runs was from the 60' not likely the changing to the filter made much difference!
If it was the filter will make it run leaner so maybe you to rich. But was the oil down between runs 1 and 2?? in the evening weather and wind can change a lot and affect a lot?? For instance if you run at 8:00 pm at 75 degrees into a head wind and next run was 9:30 60 deg and winds often go down at dusk so that can be a big performance swing?
