Can anyone tell me if they have an acticle on a 1971 Cuda 440-6 auto that was in one of the Car Magazines in 1971. This car was a test mule or road tested by the Magazine. The Cuda was FJ6-Black Interior-Shaker Hood-A01 Light Package-Consol Automatic. Car also could of been a Chrysler Exec.Car. Any help would be great. Thanks

I think he was looking to see if the article was complete with color pictures and how the car was optioned... Gauges, light group, AM, 4:10 auto, black vinyl buckets, console, shaker, no billboard, no vinyl top, rallyes...and if the car had an argent or colored grill. If that is the what the magazine shows, a friend of ours has what we believe may be the magazine article car.

Mccannix and I went over to see this car of a friend of mine to give him some parts for his restoration. I had decoded the Tag and Broadcast Sheet for him a while ago. Mccannix started looking at the car and asked some questions of the History of the car. Some things that were said pointed in the direction that this car could be the car in the Magazine Article. The owner had bought the car without knowing too much of the History and one thing he wanted to know was the grille color, Body or Argent. Since the broadcast sheet does not tell this and it was not a rubber bumper car it could of had either grille. Mccannix and I started thinking if someone had this acticle and there were pictures that could tell us the grille color then that would answer some of the question he was asking. Normally when a Cuda has Body Color Door mirrors it get a colored grille but with the Strike in 1971 and the Transport the rolled over with the Cuda grilles in it,any grille was put in a Cuda for a while.
Here is some information on the car.
Cuda- FJ6,H6X9 Black Interior,G36 Painted Mirrors, G11 Tinted Glass,A01 Light Package,A62 Rallye Dash,Bunch of J-L-M options, N41,N42 Dual Tip Exhaust,N96 Shaker Hood,R11 AM Radio. It is a consol auto and has A34 410 Dana. It also has an "R" on the prefix of the S/O number.
This friend is not a flipper and its his first E Body and plans on keeping the car so this information is for him to restore the car.

Looks like a J6 grille to me - painted mirrors, no billboards, AM radio, no rimblow, 14's, the v/c breather is not the usual 3 nipple we're used to seeing-might just be the pic - Joe

THANK YOU Shakerjoe. I am going to take a lot of time and look at each picture and then go out and buy the magazine someplace. I did read every acticle you posted and it very well could be the same Cuda. The owner just loves the car and is in the middle of taking it apart for the restoration. He would be stunned to find out it might be the same car but that is not why he bought it. He is a die hard mopar guy with B Bodies.
Thanks again. Hemicar1971

I thought the same thing, breather looks different, but it is just the pic - the shaker cable is in front of it producing an odd shadow.
Article claims F60-14 tires which were not available, picture clearly show 15" "rallyes" but hard to make out correct E60-15s VS. F60-15s. Also claim of aluminum intake ..... I don't think so.
It does look like a painted grill.
Does anyone have the numbers for '71 440+6 'Cuda auto w/4.10s? Can't be too many both FJ6 & A34.
