it is an outside thermometer must be dealer installed I saw one on a 1972 oldsmobile in the new collecter auto magazine. It was mounted on the drivers door on that car too so the driver could look down and see it. Wow the days before electronic computers in cars!

I have one & have seen them on Oldsmobiles. It must have made it into the dealer accessory catalog in the mid-late '70s. Factory installed?
