Good info. Thanks. Assume all NHRA tracks are now LED? How about other tracks? Anybody got a list? I heard that NHRA is giving anyone who raced when they were using the flag start ( not the same as the "arm drop" start for you younger racers ) and on Medicare an automatic .010 advantage with proof of age

Won't take much to tie that to your delay box and....presto...~perfect light every time.

The RacerEye is for test and tune purposes only. Sanctioning bodies (NHRA, IHRA and etc.) will not allow this device in the car during competition racing.

I am sure no one would ever use one illegally

I agree... takes the racing out of it. Though I don't race competitively, I know many who do. None of them use any "helper" electronics other than the ignition system or a nitrous controler. Only 2 uses a transbrake, the other 3 are very competitive footbraking.

It sure did.Too bad,as there are too many spectators wondering why a car "dies then picks back up".

Makes ya wonder how much it costs for a miniaturized version. Some racers would spend a lot of money for lightweight parts to, um......go faster. The advertised 1.25 lb. version is probably made with heavier, obsolete parts to keep the costs down.

And discouraged a lot of those spectators from becoming participants in the first place, or turned off existing competitors from stepping up.....

Get ready for the box guys to start crying about how it was boring before electronics and how electronics made racing more interesting to watch...

In the late 90s someone had already been busted using a small version of this. It was NOT in his car either........

I had an issue with my delay box a few years ago and didn't have a spare. I was racing for points and could not miss an event. I cut three .020 lights in a row off the bottom bulb. Anyone that makes the comment like you just did is very ignorant. Any time you want to line up I will remove my delay box and we will see who can cut a light and who can't.

I can see both sides of this fence. Been bracket racing as far back as the late 60's, and I think it has it's place. The rest of the electronic devices have done nothing but hurt the sport IMO.

next they need to make a remote so you can sit in the stands and race your car,it would make it cheaper to race because the liability ins. would go down and you wouldnt need rollbars and helmets and all that other stuff,.

nah man, the electronics are smarter than people ,they would know when to get out of a bad run and save theirself.
