For those of you that use them or have used them is there any negative effect to running them. I would think that the off-set cup would side load the tie bar causing wear on the bars or wheel from the load not being centered which would make the lifter try to turn away from the load.
Thanks

Good question, the offset helps the push rod angle< less side load> but the offset lifter cup will apply torque twisting the lifter I think you can key the lifter bore but I have not seen it yet

I ran a set of off set lifters in my blower motor with no problems.

I built and ran an FBS headed low deck motor with offset intake rollers. The lifter bores were bushed and never showed any abnormal wear. Springs were #340 on the seat with 1.7 rockers and .816 lift.

With our lifters, you get oiled bearings via EDM hole which greatly reduces wear from slight side loading. I've used them in blown engines, NOS, NA and no problems.
Here's a pic of one...

Brian,

With the side mounted oil holes parrelel to the axle, do you recommend a restriction in the pushrods when pushrod oiling on an indy Maxx block?

These lifters worked great in my unbuhed 400 stock block as is !!!

Cheers,

Arnie

Well I don't think it's neccessary....but you might want to watch the engine run with the V/C's off to make sure your not flooding the top end.

Comp Cams makes an offset Key way lifter. Darren Tedder deals in a lifter brand comparable to Jesel stuff at half the price. I forget his user name, sorry.

Brian do you recommend bushed lifter bores for your lifers? I see cudabin wrote he used them unbushed without issue.

They are meant to work very well with no bushings! Alot depends on how much lobe lift you run, but you can always have the base circle reduced on the cam when you order it to drop the lifter down some. You should have no problems up to a .450-.460 lobe. I've run .470 lobes with no issues, just needs checking to make sure the oil galley is not uncovered.

I was told to Run .210 offset lifters in my engine. They look much like the ones shown but the oil holes are front and back. Tim Cole and Comp told me to block one hole and add a little slot from the oil hole to oil galley of the lifter. So far no problems at all.

But i did have to machine the block a bit to make sure the oil had a passage to all lifters. I also needed to add higher lifter bushings so the oil holes were not coming out of the lifter hole.

My cam is .890 with 1.8 rockers. Kb stage 7 block.

I won't be running any more lift than that.
