Met a guy today who has a 72 Coronet Wagon with a 400. He got the car because he was told he could take the K member with the disc brakes and swap them into his 71 E body which currently has a 318.

Im gonna say this isnt gonna work,as the donor car is a B Body and the car he wants to put the stuff in is an E body.

I want to break the news to him(if I am actually correct) but I also would like to help him out as in what he can do as far as swapping a big block into his Challenger.

It will all bolt in just fine but the steering box angle was different for some E body cars. I'm not sure which years are different so that is one thing to check on.

The other issue is that the '72 disc brakes aren't that great of a setup. The 1973 or newer A body disc brakes are better.

'71-'72 B-body K-member and brakes interchange with the E-body stuff.

The steering box angle is different on pre '71 B-bodies.

Ok well there ya go.. I was almost certain that this swap wouldnt work. I wanted to give the guy the news IF it wouldnt have worked, because I didnt want the guy to do all the work and then find out it wouldnt fit. That would have been a bummer. Thanks for the education
