Hello all

Is it normal for the frontend to be noticeably higher after replacing upper and lower balljoints (on both sides)? I replaced both balljoints on both sides of the 73 Dart, now much higher than before. Should I just back off a bit on the torsion bars?

Eric

If the front has been off the ground it takes a little bit for it to settle back to the normal ride height. Mine usually takes a few hours

Been 2 days, have bounced the bumper a few times but not driven. Tires show noticeable camber, didnt want to drive with for sure tire edge wear.

Try turning the wheels all the way left and right, if that don't work just drive it a short ways and check again. My Dart always sits higher after jacking up the front end until i crank the wheels or drive it.

Move it around a bit, take it for a short trip around the block, then check to see if you need to adjust for height.

Changing the ball joints - did you change the adjustment on the torsion bars? Did you remove the control arms and change the alignment cam settings?

Regardless, get the factory service manual and read up on how to measure the front end ride height and how to correct it.

After you get the ride height set take it in for an alignment.
