I've got This on my car and This one on Ginas. No relays on either and no troubles either.

Why would you need another switch or relay?
There is a method to use a relay to close the charging circuit but it can be wired without too.

I use the same as what Bill has on his wifes car... been on there 11 years now... never a problem... its the simplest way to do it, plus if the relay does take a dump you might not find the HD at the track http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-830051/

I was out looking at the car today and the switch I have is the Flaming River 250... same as the Summit unit and I would bet that Flaming River builds the Summit unit for them with the Summit name on it
