I scaled our Dart 4 LINK and it came out : l/f 826 r/f 822 l/r 694 r/r 718 . anyway , took it to the track and it rolled over on the r/r pretty bad on launch and yanked left front tire about a foot and right tire still on ground ,so I put in a 1/2 turn Preload and it got better, so I put in another 3/4 to 1 more full turn and the car left with front wheels level. Any Ideas why it wants so much pre load. Also what pinion angle is best for a 4 link

first question to come to mind is - did you have the driver or equivalent weight in the seat when you scaled the car?

Second, 1-1/2 turns doesn't sound out of line.

Yes, that was with driver and fuel, but I thought I was already heavy on right rear, wouldn't have thought a turn and 1/2 more would be needed, haven't rescaled it but it must need it. Also wrong pic:

Do you have a anti roll bar on it.... I'm surprised
it doesnt go to the left with all that pre-load

No anti roll bar, Thats why my question , seems like too much preload but goes straight now. I'm going to rescale tomorrow. Shawn, didn't do any good at KilKare , 1st round got a 5.74 dragster and he put a .501 to Danny's .521, bought back and Danny took a nap. Came home early. Did get some things worked out on the car.Ran 6.34 and 6.35 and the air was like last week at NTR and we were running 6.41 there. So I am thinking some of the stuff I did this week helped and then we talked to another guy who ran Trails last week and said He was .06 faster too! Lol

To me your trying to use the pre-load to make the
car launch level..... put a anti roll bar on it and
let that take care of the level and use the pre load
like it should be used.... to make it launch straight,
when you add alot of pre load it can cause issue on
top end when you unload the chassis

Mike, I agree totally, How much difference should there be left to right rear? and shouldn't left front be heavier than Right? and how can I get the most out of this 4 link. 3050 lb. 111 in wheelbase, I am running 12 in 110 springs on Strange single adjust, Can you give me a basic set up. I am gonna do it tomorrow . It doesn't seem to matter where I locate these upper bars, it acts the same. Lowers are level with ground. It will yank the wheels and 60' 1.34 early, in the heat it will just spin and 1.38-39 60'. Then unexpectantly, will hook and go back to a 1.34 Any help appreciated.

Some people...make that most people, put way too much stock in what the scales say. You had a car that was very balanced and had no anti-roll. You had to put a turn and a half of preload in it. That is NOT out of range at all. No need to put it back on the scales. It is what it is to make it go down the track. If it leaves hard and straight, drives well and acts fine when you step off, don't worry about what the scales say.

Monte

I think there was something about the weather that was better this weekend. I haven't been taking good weather notes lately though. We had been 6.73 at Pacemakers over & over the last few times out. I didnt change a thing but we were running 6.67's Saturday. I thought it was a fluke so of course I broke out 1st Round on the brakes. Luckily Megan bought me back in so I decided to trust the car. Ended up going 6 more rounds for another W.

Awesome Shawn, When you put your mind to it your like a machine. Must have had a good turn out! I wanted to go to Pacemakers, but Danny wanted to go to kk because it is closer. We were mostly testing some things, but I always have more fun at Pacemakers! Lots of good people there. Monte, I like your style!
