Guys would like some opinions on this. Last year the car aquired a nast kick back when you go to start it. I have a msd digital 6 box. The has been set-up the same for 3-4 years and then this problem starts to happen. I have 10:1 pump gas engine. I just keep thinking it has to be the msd is retarding the timing too much on the start. I have tried the dial on the box with 20 degrees out and turn it off and it doesn't matter. Just wondering if anyone else has come across this. Most people know that once the car gets together I don't change anything maybe other than the plug LOL.

Its just kinda strange that this problem just started out of the blue and I promis I did not change anything LOL.

I really don't want to buy another msd digital 6 as a test mule. I would like to get the car to the classic so I can race for the 1st time in 2 years

Thank you

I have turned the retard off. I keep thinking that its like the retard is on all time even if I have it turned off.

you probably need to phase the rotor if you locked out the timing

the rotor

somewher it says locked out may need phasing to use 20 deg retard

Yes the distributor has been locked out for 6 years. This problem has just started to occur in the last 2 years.

I have tried eveything with the carb starting proccess. One pump..blades 1/4 open to half a pump blades half open etc. I run a pro-systems 1250cfm.

Borrow a 6AL and see if that fixes the problem.
