Is there a way to check the stroke on a crank without the rest of the engine..

ie: I have a hemi crank I want to sell, but want to make sure of the stroke first.

if they can't time to look for a new one.

Measure the crank journals, measure the rod journals, place crank in a set of stands, measure the height of the crank journal, measure the height of the rod journal, do the math.
Or if they have a lathe or crank grinding machine, true up the crank, measure the distance from the center to the outside of the rod journal, subtract half the journal....

A good machine shop should have a cranskhaft stroke checker. I'm not a machine shop and I have two of them, one of them for checking the stroke off of the mains with the crankshaft on a set of V blocks and the other for checking the stroke on the pistons once the motor is assemble or mocked up for checking
