Is there a way to check the stroke on a crank without the rest of the engine.. ie: I have a hemi crank I want to sell, but want to make sure of the stroke first. There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama & people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good.

Measure the crank journals, measure the rod journals, place crank in a set of stands, measure the height of the crank journal, measure the height of the rod journal, do the math. Or if they have a lathe or crank grinding machine, true up the crank, measure the distance from the center to the outside of the rod journal, subtract half the journal....

Cab_Burge I Win C Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 43,269 Bend,OR USA	A good machine shop should have a cranskhaft stroke checker. I'm not a machine shop and I have two of them, one of them for checking the stroke off of the mains with the crankshaft on a set of V blocks and the other for checking the stroke on the pistons once the motor is assemble or mocked up for checking Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
