I have a 74 Challenger, 440 6 pack and it was built very stock. Where I use to live I had easy access to 110 octane fuel for it and it made a world of difference in performance and in starting/stopping the engine. Now I live in Fort Worth and can't locate any stations that offer this type of fuel at the pump. Are there any octane "additives" that would help me increase my octane level? What is good and what is crap? Is there any danger to my engine? Just some inputs before I do anything I shouldn't. Thanks

why not find some AV-GAS (100ll) and mix a couple gallons in.
i've used in many times and it works great.
check around at some local airports.

I've gone that route, some airports wouldn't even think of selling to me since it was going into a car. And then if an airport is a distance away then I'll burn more gas just getting gas. The search continues.

IMHO additives don't work. They don't boost anywhere near enough. 100LL I agree is the best alternative. Put it in a couple of 5 gallons containers and tell them it's going in a 180 on floats somewhere.

Airports are not supposed to sell avgas except when they put it in the aircraft. Has to do with road taxes not being paid among other issues.

I researched this pretty thoroughly about 6 mos ago and found out octane boosters are not what they're cracked up to be.

I did locate one facility here in OKC that sells high octane and racing gas but the prices are staggering. 115 octane was over $8.00 a gallon and 103 was close to $5.00. Too rich for my pocket so I passed on the car.

Isnt there a company that actually packages up race gas and ships it to you?

Try this one out, it contains real lead and it boosts octance very well. It may seem pricey but if you buy a case it is pretty reasonable if you only need a couple of points increase in octane. If you need a full 100-110 octane than it might not work as well for you.
