Sold the body to a couple in NW Houston. They are aware of the work they have ahead of them. They plan to put a 392 Hemi in it and make it a cruiser. Though it was tough to get rid of it, at least it is going to someone that is going to fix it back up. Now, I have a 498/727 just sitting around....

I bet it was hard to let it go. If I wasn't getting married and trying to get things in order to build a house, I seriously contemplated dragging my empty car trailer to Texas and coming back with a red challenger. I always loved that car. Hope they do it right! CHIP

Oh whoops...for those that don't know...
I HAD a 72 Challenger for about 21 years. It was a street legal "race car". Full interior, mufflers, cage, 498/727, Dana, true 10.5, 170 nitrous kit.
I wrecked it at the track 4 years ago and it has sat ever since. I got a little toy a few months ago that got me back into the car scene. I hadn't even been on this board much since...
So now all my attention can go into the Dakota, which it currently has a pretty nice 392/727. It has gone low 11's motor only. I have done a little work on it and it should run 10.9's in good Houston air. It has PS, PB, AC, full interior with SRT-4 buckets, CD player, Dana, ladder bars. In other words, a sweet cruiser that can put the Vettes, Camaros, Mustangs in thier place!
Here is a pic of the Chally...

I know how you feel. I bought my first car, '73 Barracuda in May '76, sold it in 2000. Teared up when it left. The car was in drivable cond, but needed a lot of tlc. With me trying to get back to racing my other 'Cuda, I just did not have time or budget to do it right. It was just going to ruin. 6 mo later, door bell rang, it was the guy I sold it to. Says, I got some thing to show you. My chin hit my chest when I saw what he had done with my old car. That was the moment that I was glad that I had sold the car to him. Still wish I had it back
