Well guy's, I went back to the track this weekend, with some good results, I didn't do
a very good job driving, but most everyone I had to run, were off their game also, so it kinda evened it up for this old man, and I was able to secure another win, and gather a few points, so I will post the sordid details below.

Made 2 tt the air was 2680' when we started tt, so my weather stuff said it was going to be slower than last week, but that's the way it goes.
The car went a 7.102, and a 7.098, on the tt.

1st rd I dial it on an 08 and hope for the best, my opponent is dialed in at 7.38, he misses the bulb and cards a .643 to my .536, catch him ride the brakes across, and put up a .09 on the 08 for a win.

2nd rd I dial an .08 as the baro is starting to make a move up, and figure it will be a touch faster, my opponent is dialed in at 7.66, he puts on the red light for me, and I get a freebie tt, and the car goes a .07 with a 7, so another win.

3rd I put a 7 on the window, and my opponent is dialed in at 6.17, I go a ,526 to his .546, run it almost to the stripe, check to see where he is, and he is coming, but I don't feel like he is going to be close, so I scrub the brakes, and go a .07 with a 2 to his 3 over, another one down.

4th rd, I leave the .07 on the window, my opponent is dialed in at 6.29, this guy is a close friend, and we were joking earlier in the day about him leading the SSS points, with 22 rd wind and 8 losses, and I am at 17 rd wins and 6 losses, I tell him I have 7 rds left and I am going to try my best to at least catch him, if I can, anyway he goes .640 to my .532, game over, I am really hard on the brakes, at the finish, and go an .08 on the .07 to his 1 over.

5th rd I dial the car on a .06, as the track incrimentals tell me it is picking up, my opponent is dialed in at 7.85, when the staging guy sends up out, I pull into the water box, and they give me the hold up sign, I look, and the other guy is still in the staging lanes, with a problem, this fellow is the one I took the points lead back from last week, so I feel like I need to give him every chance to get his fired up, so I just shut mine off and wait, he and a couple of his friends are working trying to get the car to fire, but it ain't happening finally, he just give up, and they send me on my way, I don't mind winning a rd, because some one has broken, but I will give them every opportunity to make a race of it, by the way I was .005 on the tree, and the car went a .06 with an egg, so I guess I was ready for him.

Final rd, coming up, I leave the .06 on the car, and my opponent is dialed in at 5.93, this guy, has had my number for the last few times we have had to race, never could make the right decision at the stripe, to pull out a victory over him, but last night I finally got lucky and my mind and body made the right decision, drove it hard right to the stripe, hammered the brakes, and fed him the stripe, and he was .02 hun under, and I was .01 over, with the win light coming on for me.

Now this brings on more thought my SSS points, that is the IHRA Summit Super Series points, where you use the x number for your car, and run the 30 rds, for a shot at being in the SSS shootout, at the bracket finals, my total is 23 wins 6 losses, and I have 1 rd left, so right now as it stands I am in the lead for that, and there is only 1 racer who has a chance to do anything with it, as he has 8 rds left to run, so he is going to have to win all of them to move into the top spot, but I am fairly confident I have this part of the deal locked up, but anything can happen, nw I need to get to work and try to stretch my track points lead out, to have some breathing room, we have 5 more races left for that.

Thanks Dave

Way to go Dave! Good to see a old man take it to the young whipersnapers. Another track championship on the horizon?

Nice, you earned some rounds and got through the other rounds with wins also. That is what it takes sometimes. Congratulations, I would take the #1 spot for the night anyway I can get it.
