Is these a difference in the bellhousing bolt pattern on a 904 trans vs a 727 trans?

Thanks

A smallblock 727 and a smallblock 904 would be the same, but a bigblock 727 would be different. No bigblock 904s.

Isn't there a differences in the amount of HP it takes to run it. 904 being less??

Careful, you'll probably need to tweak the engine, converter and final gear to optimize them for use with only 2 speeds!

Yeah, I will have to change everything, A 904 may be better choice, my 727 is due this winter to go thru and an extra 20 to the wheels sounds good to me We plan on upin the power back up between 650 /675 and 600ft lbs, will a 904 with basic mods clutches / bands / sprag take it? Got to remember we mud race so we dont torque up on the parts like drag racing

We're putting a Lofgren built 904 in our 71 Duster project. Its lighter and efficient.

Ive got good yokes on my T case , is the 904 longer or shorter not counting the tail shaft? I will have to do 2 shafts if its off by more than 1 inch, can a 904 handle 600 ft lbs @ 5300?

What about input / out put shaft size - Dia- is a 904 light duty compared to my Porkflite? it may be heavy but it is one of the few drive line parts I haven't broke in 3 years racing
