Got a free "89" 318 to build for my truck. I have not tore into one of these roller motor yet and was wondering if the cam has provisions for a fuel pump eccentric? I did pop a v-cover and it has the 302 heads and the timming cover has a fuel pump blockoff plate on it. Just looking at building a millage motor as cheap as possible. Have a t-quad intake and a e-brock 1406 carb and headers for it will go in a 84 D150 short bed. 904 lockup and 2.94 rear with 28 to 29" tall tires.

maybe. if it came out of a car (5th ave, diplomat), yes, if it cam out of a truck (TBI) not sure. if it doesn't you can buy a camshaft snout extender from hughes for $18 to be able to run a fuel pump eccentric.

if you want some power out of it, too, get the puny little cam reground. I had bullet cams regrind mine with their 259/316HR lobe on both the intake and exhaust--I'm using mag heads, and the exhaust flows a lot better than the 302 heads. regrind is like $150, shipping both ways is ~$30. the roller lifters can be reused. the pushrods, probably, too. if you're serious about mileage, I'd maybe drop the intake lobe down to the HR247/306 lobe and the exhaust to the HRL256A lobe. hughes 1110 springs should work good for these lobes.

it will have the short nose cam

get the adaptor from HUGHES and run a mech fuil pump..easy fix

any after market cam will work with the stock roller lifters, and they should be the oil there roller so you can up to mag heads later

I just opened mine up and cleaned then reused

rull the lunati VooDoo 60710 in mine with comp 901-16 springs and all stock hardware
