Have a 70 440 runs and idles fine and drive fine for about 5 to 10 mins once warm it starts cutting out and dies, like losing all spark. I pulled over checked coil for spark good, let set for about 5 min. started back up and drove 3 min home on my street gave a little gas started missing out again.. Any help?

one possibility:
Check the ignition power feed at the bulkhead connector. Clean the terminals as best you can and try to restore a little tension to the female connector (carefully). Often this connection is weak.

No, the bulkhead connector locate just inboard of the brake mastercylinger and down a bit. By the back of the drivers side engine head. On the firewall. Its a plastic block connection that the engine wiring harness connects to.
You could start by wiggling it while the engine is running to see if it dies---then you KNOW its a problem.

Connection good, wiggled it pretty good will running and nothing, We just finished it up today so it first trip out to get some gas and back home is when it did it, have had it idling for 15+ mins in the garage giving it a shake down, everything seemed fine until on the way back some was going to check kickdown linkage action so i pushed her to the floor and started missing out so i let off then she died.. few min later started and drove back here. Probably should install electronic dist.

you can run a blaster coil with a points system as long as you have a ballast resistor in place. Which it sounds like you do.

Coil not the prob, replaced and went for another drive and bam did it again, seems to start when it shifts in to drive and you are just getting up to speed. then starts missing bad put it in neutral it smooths out, but put it back in gear and it does it again..

Could it be fuel starvation? Weak fuel pump or low float level?
Will it stumble evey time you try to go uphill with some moderate to heavy throttle???

New fuel pump and carb off another running vehicle with no problems.I think i'm going to put a electronic set up on tonight and see if that cures it. hopefully new pump is not junk, but it could be..

sounds like the coil wire then.

If you saw arcing, then the insulation is going or gone.

Might even be your whole set of plug wires.
