Looking at lowering the Dart. I heard alot about Flipping the Front Hangers so yesterday afternoon I decided to do that.

What was never discussed with this flipping of the front hangers, is that it can be done if your willing to redrill the mounting holes since the hangers are "Keyed" so that they will only go on 1 way.

The Top 2 studs are centered at 1.5" and the bottem 2 studs are centered at 1.825".

So now the questions to those who have done this.

If you redrilled did you use a backing plate to reinforce the mount?

How about if you were to weld some .1875 to extend the flange and redrill? Could you trust the welds?

I know that Mancini and Firm Feel both sell this hangers with the second hold drilled.

I put in one of the Firmfeel hangers last weekend and it was a piece of cake. dropped the bumper probably a couple of inches, didn't measure before the swap. the stance looks much better.

I'd just slot the holes. its only 1/8" per hole difference and theres plenty of material on the chassis mounting plate.

Why hack up the holes when the dropped hangers are available?

The front hangars are only about $80 from Sumitt. When I installed mine, I did not use the reinforcement plate. They are available from Mancini.

They are not that expensive. I got mine for $55 from Richard Eberg on eBay...

Well here is the result for dropping the SS Springs using the AREngineering Front hangers and a 1" lowering block.

The Picture on the Left top is where I started, Left Bottem is with the AREngineering Hangers and Top right is with the front hangers and a 1" lowering block.
